Fun neighborhood tiki bar
We stopped in for a quick drink on the way to a concert. The decor is really nice, all the little spaces are cool. They manage to do the pool table in a tiki bar in a way that works. Our bartender was very nice, the drinks weren’t bad. The day we were there they were opening their speakeasy for the first time, we didn’t get to sit in there but the host let us stick our head in. We’d definitely come back to try more drinks!

Friendly and on fire
Bartenders are some of the friendliest I’ve met in tiki land. They will pretty much set anything on fire. Drinks are potent and the decor is well appointed.
Met Management, Unexpected Turn of Events. Left Laughing.
I went to Son of Monsterpalooza where I got a really cool Misfits tiki glass. The artist informs me my long lost favorite tiki bar from my days living in Irvine was having a special event with a custom bloody Misfits tiki glass. Say no more! I rally the squad and drive two agonizing hours from Los Angeles. I’m in line, waiting for my place in queue when we are told there is an extra 50 minute wait for seating. Purchase of the whoppin’ $140 tiki mug does not include a drink or a table to enjoy a whole tab of food and drinks. I ask to speak to the server who is nice and tries to defend the Stowaway. I counter with, “But you didn’t prepare for the volume of horror fans that was going to come your way.” The tiki was $80 at Monsterpalooza and jacked up to $140 for what I assumed was a split deal. I ask to speak to the owner who comes out with a huge smile that quickly fades. I informed him of the issue to which he gave me belligerent responses. I repeatedly said he didn’t care about his customers. He refused to show any empathy. Well I’ll tell you what, MR. STOWAWAY! Disney’s Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar LOVES money and gladly takes it without much of a fuss! Your condescending YOU’RE WELCOME at the end of the conversation elicited a deep laugh that carried me through writing the review you so so so deserve. I wouldn’t advise talking so negatively to the ones with the power to spread the voice to all those wanting to have a good time. It’s not a good time if the venue doesn’t think twice about people willing to spill $140 for a tiki mug. ; ) Please remember that in your industry, you are supposed to aim for customer satisfaction. If the wait is such a hassle with many people perhaps you can reassess your poorly run business to see what you can do to make the people looking to give you buckets of cash a more positive experience. Came for a good time, left after a shouting match with the very arrogant and unprofessional owner of the Stowaway. Way to make an impression!!!!!!!!!
